Exchange Security Insights Failing to assign permissions - GCC tenant

I am attempting to configure the Exchange Security Insights data connector. I was able to complete steps 1 and step 2 but we are unable to assign the required permissions to the automation account related to step 3 of the data connector setup. When we run the script, we receive the below error

I am thinking this may be due to the tenant being a GCC tenant but I need some assistance assigning the proper permissions to the automation account. Can this be done via CLI?
