ESP32 S3 Zero + Display ST7789

Hello!

I'm following this amazing project and I'm planning to build a controller using a Waveshare ESP32-S3 Zero. I'm relatively new to this, so I'm trying to understand how to adapt the project to my specific hardware.

I have a ST7789 240x240 non-touch display and I intend to use the 2 switchs (GPIO 4 and 6) configuration only.

Since the S3 Zero has a very compact layout, I would like to suggest and ask if the following wiring for the display is possible to implement:

GND: GND
VCC: 3V3
SCL: GPIO 12
SDA: GPIO 13
RES: GPIO 8
DC: GPIO 9
CS: GPIO 10
BLK: 3V3 (Always on)

Since the current Waveshare platform in the project is set for 240x280, would it be easy to adjust it for a 240x240 resolution using this pinout? I’m not very experienced with editing complex code yet, so any guidance on which files I should look into to make these changes would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. Sorry for the slow response.
This would not be an easy job, but not too bad. The steps would be:

UI Deign:

• download EEZ Studio
• Take the files in https://github.com/Builty/TonexOneController/tree/main/ui_design_280x240land and modify the project to be 240x240, and adjust the graphic parts to fit
• generate the UI files

Display Support:

• add your pin defines to main.h
• create a new platform file (use the file platform_ws169.c as the basis, it uses the same LCD, will be close already)
• you would probably need to create a new sdkconfig defaults file

That should get you really close.
