Best way to mute the Tonex one pedal?

Just checking that I am not missing something obvious, but I am trying to have the Tonex One muted with a midi command. The obvious method is to control the global volume output of the Tonex One (Midi CC 122, toggling between 0 and 127), which means the individual preset volume levels do not get messed up.

However there is a noticeable delay between the button press and the pedal muting that is very problematic when playing, so if anyone knows of a better method, that would be amazing.

I can't think of any other way to mute the pedal. There is preset bypass, but that is not muted and still could make some noise. It would remove gain though so maybe it helps.
