comfy model list does not find models in subdirectories of /models

Expected Behavior

Various nodes expect models to be in specific directories (e.g., vae, text_encoders), so models are placed there. comfy model list only looks at the /models directory, without recursing, and thus misses all the installed modules.

In its current state, it returns No models found, even though models are present in the system.

The reason comfy model list doesn't find models in subdirectories is that it only lists files directly inside the specified models directory and does not recurse into subfolders. This is by design in the current implementation, which uses a non-recursive directory listing—so models in folders like vae, loras, or diffusion_models are ignored unless you explicitly point the command at those subdirectories using the --relative-path option. There are no configuration options or flags to enable recursive search at this time. For more context and discussion, see this related issue and the relevant code.
