Config recreation

mistserver now deletes its configuration file (/etc/mistserver.conf) when the server is rebooted and creates a clear one. This has already happened twice in this month. I have been working with mistserver for a year now, and this has never happened before. I have a backup copy of the configuration, so it's easy to fix, but it's still annoying. Is there any way to fix this? Maybe there is something wrong with my configuration/system that could cause this problem, but I haven't changed anything of this for months and don't know what it can be.

When MistServer closes down it'll report whether it could or could not successfully save the configuration file and it should also print the reason why it failed. So what you can try is running the service stop command:

systemctl stop mistserver

Then afterwards run the journalctl command to view the log upon exiting:

journalctl -u mistserver -fn 50

(-fn 50 makes it show the last 50 lines, which should be plenty to capture the reason). The warning would be at error level so it should be a big red blob, or at least be quite large since it contains the entire configuration (so you can copy it over into another configuration file and "restore" the config).

If you don't see anything you can try to boot MistServer manually and close it using ctrl+c in the terminal it's running to trigger the shutdown & force a save. I'd recommend running it with -g 4 for INFO debug level. That would contain a message when it succeeds: INFO: Wrote updated configuration to disk.

(You will want to run this as root, so you have the same permissions as the service script would have)

MistController -g 4 -c /etc/mistserver.conf

We don't print a message about what configuration is loaded when booting, you'll know when you're getting a "fresh" config due to it asking whether you want to create an account/password.
