Glossaries not working properly for some languages

Describe the bug
Translating text via API using a glossary returns incorrectly translated or incorrectly substituted phrases from the glossary.
The error only occurs for certain languages. We have noticed the problem when translating from EN to FR, IT, LV, and NB.

To Reproduce

1. Add a glossary with source language EN and target language FR with the following phrases:

"e.g.","p. ex."
"i.e.","c.-à-d."

2. Translate the following text via API from EN to FR using the previously created glossary:

My life is e.g. failure.

A beech came to us, i.e. monster.

3. Receive the translated text:

Ma vie est c.-à-d. un échec.

Un hêtre est venu à nous, c.-à-d. monstre.

4. Note that both “e.g.” and “i.e.” have been translated as “c.-à-d.”.
