Aesthetic improvements to the template

I want people to use this as a "open research notebook", there's a few things I'd like to make prettier / nicer in the template:

• Instead of "Quartz 4.0" make it say the person's name / title of the notebook
• Update the footer to link to the user's GitHub, not the quartz github (and maybe the Open Research Institute as maintainers of this specific version of the quartz template? https://open-research-institute.github.io/ )

• Add RSS feed (helpful for consuming the content of the research notebook for semantic search) https://quartz.jzhao.xyz/features/RSS-Feed

I found this comment quite late, but hopefully this still helps you out. I am not well versed with the RSS feed and such, so I can only help with the first two points.

Updating links to your github/discord (or any link):

Navigate to <repo>/source/quartz.layout.ts and find lines 11 and 12. You should see:

^ You can even change the text for github or discord to something else. For example, I replaced "Discord Community" with "YouTube" and it updated fine, and the GitHub link now takes you to my github.

I didn't change the "Created with quartz..." on my site because it didn't matter much to me, but if you want to change it, it's a bit of a harder process:

Changing "Created with Quartz" to custom text:

The text is part of the footer and is located in the locale for the language of your site. Find the locale file for the language you want to change under source/quartz/i18n/locales/<language> (i.e. en-US.ts).

Next, find line 36:

You can change this to smth else like maybe "created by " or smth or you could, as you said, replace the whole thing with the name of your notebook (idk how to automatically find the name of the book, just figuring this out rn as I go).

Then, head to source/quartz/components/Footer.tsx and find line 18:

You can then delete line 18 or just cut and paste it away somewhere in case you want to add it back later. If you want, you could also customize the link, and just change "Quartz v{version}" to something else that would become hyperlinked, and maybe delete the (c) {year} if you don't want it. Anyway, after deleting line 18 in the Footer.tsx and changing the text in the locale, it looks like this:

Change link to open research institute:

If you want to change the link to be the ORI link, you could do that by implementing the following changes:

Hopefully this helps, but do be aware, however, I think that the changes to createdWith only apply to the language of the locale you edited, so you may have to change it manually for however many languages you want it to display in (en-GB and en-US would probably be the only ones you need to worry about if you are catering towards an english audience).

It has occurred to me that you are the creator of this repo lol. I didn't notice that at first. I suppose this issue is more of a todo then?
I wish I noticed that before spending so long figuring out how to solve the issue lol
