UI freezes when displaying points on the map with large datasets

Hi Freika,

I'm running DaWarIch (v0.28.0) on Unraid via Docker (Community Apps).

Whenever I try to display points on the map — for example, when zooming or viewing a trip — the UI hangs or becomes extremely unresponsive for several seconds.
Observations:

Trips::CalculateDistanceJob takes over 80 seconds

Stats::CalculatingJob also takes more than 10 seconds

The database contains a large number of points with geom columns (likely tens of thousands)

No visible errors in the browser console, but the page becomes unusable during these interactions

System:

DaWarIch: v0.28.0

Redis 7 (official image)

PostgreSQL 15 with PostGIS

Sidekiq concurrency: 10

Questions:

Are there plans to optimize map rendering (e.g. clustering, bounding box queries, or lazy loading)?

Should a GIST index be created on points.geom manually, or is this handled automatically?

Converted it to a discussion as it's not really a bug report.

Having lots of points on the map causes heavy load. Depending on hardware, you'll start experiencing lagging at 100k points or more.

Background jobs processing time have nothing to do with the map performance.

There are some plans on optimizations with no estimates.

Yes, the project is a bit too ambitious for me. Thanks to ChatGPT, I was at least able to get everything working again on Unraid.
Cool project, by the way, I love it.
