Problem loading profile photos larger than 100 kb

First of all thank you for this great work, Ph2date is really great.
I'm having problems loading profile pictures larger than 100 kb.
Do you have this problem too?
How can I fix it?
Is it a bug linked to the PHP version? (I'm using 7.1)
