Description
Feature Request: Group Open Tabs into a Project
Summary
Introduce an option to save the current set of open tabs as a named Project via the menu (e.g., File > Save Open Tabs As…). This would enable users to quickly restore a predefined workspace containing all relevant models, textures, and other files.
User Story
As a user, I want to save my currently open tabs as a Project so that I can easily reopen the same working set later without manually selecting each file.
Proposed Functionality
- Add a new menu item under File: Save Open Tabs As…
- Prompt the user to choose or create a Project directory.
- Save references to all open files so the Project can be restored with those tabs reopened.
- (Optional) Include file order, viewport layout, and other workspace context.
Rationale
This feature would streamline workflow management, particularly for users who regularly switch between multiple projects or large sets of related files. It enhances organization and aligns naturally with Blockbench’s project-based workflows.
