The sound widget uses a lot of battery power

System wattage is tracked using the open source app Stats.

I noticed a consistent increase of 1.2 watts while using the sound widget. Without it the wattage is usually between 2.8 and 4.0 watts whereas with the sound widget on its 4.0 to 5.5 watts
I'm on Tahoe 26.2 and MacBook Air M2. Love using simple-bar, i made an account just to tell this

I just pushed a big update that optimise the use of simple-bar with multiple displays. I also tried to simplify each data widget commands in order to reduce energy consumption.

Please let me know if you see any improvements when using the latest version of simple-bar (latest commit on the master branch).
