Description
This is just a concept, nothing below is set in stone yet.
Once a player reaches a certain amount of milestone, they are given a "badge", which will grant the player special chat tags plugin side and/or visual badges on the website.
There would be two types of badges (whether the implementation would care about this is to be debated):
- Permanent, once a player obtains them, they will keep them forever. For instance, player can get an achievement for jumping 100000 times, or being a winner of a tournament, or for having spent 1000+ hours with a timer on (numbers are just suggestions as well). API should keep track of when the player obtain them for displaying purposes.
- Temporary for milestones that can change over time, for example 100% completion on a mode, being rank 1/top 1% on the player leaderboard, holding at least one WR for a minimum of 1 week,... If they lose these badges, they could show up in the list of past badges along with its start and end date.
This system does not have to be up to date in real time. To save resources, badges can just be (re)computed once a day.
