Summary

the speed of the animations does not follow the animation scale settings set in the developer options.
This can be especially noticeable when the animation scale is set to 5x as the whole system including most apps will have slower animations but this will have no effect on the music app

The short answer to this is that most of our animations are "custom" and last for a fixed duration, meaning they won't get affected by what you set for the animation scaling settings.

• This fixed duration can make sense such as the vinyl used on the "Now Playing" screen since 1 full rotation represents 24s.

There are some places where those settings will work since we use the built-in native behavior & components for:

• The ripple animation on buttons.
• When opening/closing the sheets.

In terms of navigation transitions, the underlying library used removed the use of system animations a couple years ago due to no longer being able to dispatch events for system animations, leading them to use custom animations instead since they still worked.
