Here is a (non-comprehensive) list of features that could be implemented in the app for improvement. I do not have funding for continuing the development of CarbonViewer, I am however happy to merge your developments!

  • Clarify Point Inclusion within Polygons: Specify whether measurement points need to be within the polygon of a bog or fen, or if points outside the border are acceptable.

  • Detailed Requirements for SHP Files: Provide clearer instructions for uploading SHP files, including necessary columns and attribute table column names, or state if these details are not important.

  • Polygon Configuration for Fens: Clarify if each fen should be one polygon or if a mosaic of adjacent polygons with different fen types (like myrkant, myrflate) is acceptable.

  • Volume Calculation Description: Briefly describe the method for calculating volume, including the interpolation techniques used.

  • Support for Additional Coordinate Systems: Include support for other coordinate systems besides UTM 32 N, EPSG:25832.

  • Clarify "Power" Functionality: Provide a clearer explanation of the "power" feature, its significance, and how to adjust its settings.

  • CO2-Equivalents Measurement: Consider including a measurement for tons of CO2-equivalents in addition to tons of carbon.

  • Interpretation of Results: Offer guidance on how to interpret the results, especially the meaning of SD (Standard Deviation) in this context.

  • Direct Peat Volume Entry Option: Add an option for users to enter peat volume directly, bypassing interpolation, which is helpful for users with area estimates and representative depth data but no coordinates.
