Although the race maker’s size can be changed the hardcoded model for checkpoint markers directs racers on a certain path and is counter intuitive for racing on tangents. Adding support for something like a trigger_checkpoint would eliminate this distraction while also giving mappers a better visualization of the dimensions of the checkpoint in the editor. The surf maps I am working on are at such a large scale the race maker model is sometimes hard to even see.
Segment times are a must have to give racers multiple goals to grind to keep the scene active. Once a top time is set on an overall map the activity drops off substantially as there’s little else for people to work towards.
In addition to segment times race maps should have the option to start the race clock once they have passed the starting trigger. Similar to a road race where there is a chip time and a gun time. Not sure if this is an option I’ve overlooked, if so disregard
