Reporting an issue with the display of certain backgrounds in games based off of the Dai-2-Ji Super Robot Taisen OG engine where some backgrounds look to have a vertical striping effect going on. I've confirmed that this does not happen on an actual PS3, and while I've not got the ability to get a direct capture from that right now, I've provided an image of how things should look further below.

As I recently did some dumping of textures from some affected games for the SRW community, I can confirm that the affected backgrounds are DDS files which are UYVY formatted. As part of this, I also confirmed that swapping the order of the Y's in the UYVY data reading results in the intended display for these backgrounds, which may assist in finding a fix for this.

This affects NPJB00521 (Super Robot Taisen OG: Dark Prison) and BLJS10133 (Dai-2-Ji Super Robot Taisen OG) at minimum, though it also should also affect BLJS10335 (Super Robot Taisen OG: The Moon Dwellers) as well due to it runnning on the same engine, though I've not confirmed any reports firsthand here for this title.

Files provided here are from NPJB00521, as this allows for the easiest confirmation of the issue due to there being no gameplay needed in order to reach an affected background. Clean non-screenshot versions of the background in the provided screenshot can be found further below this section, with and without the striping. Any issues on the green character in the main emulator screenshot can be ignored, as it flickers due to being a hologram anyway. The issue is most pronounced on the chairs in this particular case, as they're supposed to be straight lines.

Other details

Confirmed across a number of other sources, such as YT videos (eg, timestamped here for the graveyard background, https://youtu.be/8tuLR2TKNzA?list=PLm67wIIVI_g7_LAQz898incEgqYhJebDG&t=451), as well as other players with different system setups.

I can also confirm that I'm using a base, unedited version of the game for these tests and the above information.

Non-screenshot versions of the screenshotted background can be found below for comparison, in correct and incorrectly rendered versions. The base DDS file can also be provided upon request if needed.
