I am not understanding auto selection?

I am not understanding auto selection, or it is not working as expected, need some help please.

I want to do a first pass at finding exact duplicates.
I set min threshold to 1.0.
I enable auto selection.
I set file size to 4.

My results are always auto selecting the smallest file, where in this example the other two matches are larger, and one is a live video.

Even if I enable all live video, the live video is still not selected.

E.g. here are some results where there are multiple larger files that are not selected.

Here is an example where I prefer live photos and size, and again the live photo is not selected:

Any help on what I am not understanding or doing wrong?

Thanks for the detailed report.

To help debug this, could you check the logs for [ausl]?
It shows the weight settings, each asset's metrics and final scores
that would help me understand what's happening with the selection.
