Material written onto paper and then printed into a book will have differing formatting. This can be seen in almost all books as things such as " or other punctuation can be butchered. In addition, spacing and line breaks are not respected. Below are some examples

This looks to me a lot like when you try to open .txt or .rtf files in something like wordpad and its default text formatting butchers the material of the file. Are paper and books handled differently for storing the contents?
