Description
Description:
This repository has been moved from @jgsuess's private account to the UP-Manila-SILab organization. As part of this transition, the repository's description and supporting documentation need to be updated to reflect the new ownership and ensure clarity for contributors and users.
Tasks:
-
Update Repository Description: The current repository description should be updated to accurately reflect the project's purpose, scope, and ownership by the UP-Manila-SILab organization. This should be concise and informative, providing a clear understanding of the project at a glance. Consider including keywords for better searchability.
-
Define Contribution Conventions: A
CONTRIBUTING.mdfile (or similar) should be created outlining the contribution guidelines for this project. This should include:- How to submit issues and pull requests.
- Coding style guidelines.
- Branching strategy.
- Process for code review.
- Any other relevant information for potential contributors.
-
Specify License and IP Clauses: A
LICENSEfile should be added to clearly define the license under which the project is distributed. This is crucial for clarifying usage rights and permissions. Additionally, any specific IP considerations or clauses relevant to the project should be documented, potentially in a separate document or within theREADME.md. This might include attribution requirements or restrictions on certain types of use. -
Update README: The
README.mdfile should be updated to include the following:- The updated repository description (as per task 1).
- A link to the
CONTRIBUTING.mdfile. - A clear statement of the chosen license (and potentially a link to the
LICENSEfile). - Any other relevant information about the project, such as setup instructions, usage examples, or links to related resources. This should serve as the primary point of entry for anyone visiting the repository.
Benefits:
- Clarity: A well-defined description and supporting documentation will improve understanding of the project's goals and how to contribute.
- Collaboration: Clear contribution guidelines will encourage and facilitate contributions from others.
- Legal Compliance: Specifying the license and IP clauses will protect both the project and its contributors.
- Professionalism: A complete and well-documented repository demonstrates professionalism and increases trust in the project.
