Install manually extension

My original issue is that when I install the Ruff extension on my remote server(ubuntu), it automatically installs version 2022 instead of version 2026 (which is installed on my local macbook). I'm trying to figure out how to manually install extensions to fix this.

As a first step, I'm testing the manual installation process locally on my MacBook before attempting it on the remote server. I installed an extension locally using codium --install-extension. The extension folder in Finder shows it was downloaded, but the extension doesn't appear in the VSCodium extensions list and I can't access it.

So I doubt that installing an extension via codium-server --install-extension will work too.
