I just discovered Vale, and at first glance it looks amazing and promising except for the appearance of having been abandoned. What happened? |

Hey, thanks for the question. Short answer: I'm not sure! Long answer: I stopped working on it just before joining the Mojo team, but I left that team last month, so the future is wide open. I don't think I'll revive Vale itself, but I am thinking about forking it to make a new language. Coincidentally, I just did a lot of upgrades to the parser a couple weeks ago, and I'm currently working on V3 of the next big memory safety model (very different from the current gen-refs/regions blend). I wouldn't be surprised if I had some big announcement in a few months, or maybe not, we'll see where life takes it. |
