Simple-Stack or any future KMP derivative must support AndroidX.NavigationEvent

androidx.navigationevent has reached 1.0.0-beta01 which means it's becoming API-stable, and LocalNavigationEventDispatcherOwner and its friends could help retrieve back event processing for predictive back support.

This must be investigated, and there's a chance this is a new responsibility of a StateChanger to actually make NavigationEvent know about it.

Unless it is NavigationEvent that must be observed to trigger StateChanger state changes (unlikely except for SimpleStateChanger).

ComponentActivity and ComponentDialog have been integrated with NavigationEvent 1.0.0-alpha01 via the NavigationEventDispatcherOwner API. You can now retrieve a NavigationEventDispatcher from your ComponentActivity via the navigationEventDispatcher field. Since the OnBackPressedDispatcher has been re-written on top of the new library all previous usages should continue to work correctly.
