First off, a huge thank you to everyone who has offered to help translate KidsChores! I’ve created this discussion area as a central place for us to collaborate, ask questions, and troubleshoot any issues that come up during the translation process.

A few quick notes to get us started:

• Machine Translation Base: The project has been pre-filled with machine translations for the first pass. Please treat these as a rough starting point—they are likely to be imperfect, so your corrections are vital!
• Watch the Syntax: Many strings contain variables and formatting characters (like {brackets}, %, or specific symbols). Please preserve these exactly as they are so the data inserts correctly in Home Assistant.
• Crowdin Feedback: I am still relatively new to the Crowdin system. If you are an experienced translator and see a better way to configure things, please let me know. I’m open to suggestions!

How Updates & Testing Work
As you make updates and approve translations, they will be included in future releases automatically. However, if you want to test your work immediately:

1. Manually download the file for your language from Crowdin.
2. Replace the corresponding file in your Home Assistant directory:

• custom_components\kidschores\translations
• custom_components\kidschores\translations_custom

3. The relevant files are [lang].json, [lang]_notifications.json, and [lang]_dashboard.json (where [lang] is your language code).
