Does smart view gem supports the latest version of Essbase version 11.1.2

I am trying to connect to Essbase 11.1.2, I am getting this error-- in `initialize': No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. - connect(2) (https://) (Errno::ECONNREFUSED).
I am assuming the gem may not be compatible with the new version of Essbase. Do you have any suggestions to fixing this or any alternatives.

I haven't worked on this code in years - it was an experiment that worked well with 9.3.1, but I didn't take it any further. I'm afraid I don't know if the protocol has changed since then, or whether it is still compatible.

However, I suspect the error you are getting is because you are using an HTTPS connection. Are you able to test on a machine where you can use an HTTP connection only?

Depending on what you are trying to achieve, there may be other options. If its Essbase you wish to retrieve data/metadata from, I have an ess4r gem that provides data extract capabilities using the Java API...

Thank you for the quick response. I get the same error with http. I think
that the issue may be because the protocol may have changed.

I am assuming that ess4r will require jruby. Is that correct?

I am new to this, Is there a sample code that demonstrates ess4r?

Thank you. I will check it out.
I am trying to validate Hyperion reports by querying the Essbase in Ruby.
My manual tester will provide me members needed for querying, I need to connect to Essbase to retrieve the data and validate with the report generated by Hyperion.

Does any one know which is supported for excel interactive(smart view Hyperion).I am doing smart view automation .We have smart view gem but its inactive for years.
