It would be nice if Dozzle supported an env var, like DOZZLE_SETTINGS, to specify the default UI settings.

I programmatically create VM's with Dozzle inside, and it's annoying to not be able to specify the default UI settings in the compose file, or in a bind mounted config file.

The default Dozzle UI settings are hardcoded here:

Support a DOZZLE_SETTINGS env var, or support a dozzle.config.json file which can be bind mounted into the container.

This gets asked often. It's pretty hard to pass all the configurations from CLI to the html. However, this is already solved. If you enable authentication, then your settings are stored in /data. That's a better experience. Then across browsers, they get synced.

It is not solved. I use git based infrastructure and create/destroy VMs daily.

Each new VM has it's own independent Dozzle with it's own independent /data, so I need to change the settings individually for each VM.

Other web servers like Grafana/Prometheus support a config file so that you don't need to manually set them up each time.

Anyway, thanks for the project, like you said, this seems to be a very common request.

You can send a PR. As long as it doesn't break anything else, I can merge. But the complication is conflict resolution and not breaking existing profiles.

I am working on v10 so might come back to this if more people request it.

I'll move to discussion and judge by upvotes.
