Jandy Infinite Water Colors #458

The infinite watercolor light is managed very differently in RS software, at the moment I have not found a way to control the color with AqualinkD since Jandy only allows 1 iAqualink device connected, and that's the ONLY protocol/device that can set the light mode at present. (iAqualink's web interface AqualinkTouch can't even control the light color, or couldn't last time someone check for me). You should be able to turn it on and off though by assigning a virtual button in AqualinkD, you need to do this since it's not a real circuit. There is some info here. |

Actually, I can do everything with the infinite light via your AqualinkD
simulator. If you wrote the code for it you already got it. The light shows
up in the Equipment On/Off menu of your simulator. It’s funny because my
“actual” PDA displays it the same way so your simulator is quite accurate.
I can turn it on and off, and select all preset colors and scenes settings.
I cannot do custom colors with but that’s ok because I can use iAquaLink to
do that.

Sending Screenshots of your simulator app already controls infinite water
colors via “Lights Zone 1” under the Equipment On/Off menu.

This is great to know. Obviously I do not have a light to play with to test. The screen shot didn’t come through BTW. If you don’t mind, I’ll ask you to send me some debug information that way I can program the AqualinkD web interface. I reply post to this thread in a few days with the info on how to capture the information needed. when you use the Jandy iAqualink web interface, (not app) can you also change to a pre-set color? |

Sure, no problem.
When I use the iAqualink web interface the infinite water colors just turns
off/on. The iAqualink app of course has full functionality.
My AquaPalm PDA can do everything but the custom colors. Same with your PDA
simulator. Same with your One Touch simulator. That said, my suspicion is
they kept the same RS485 commands for the base light functionality or else
your simulators would not work at all. They likely just extended the
lighting commands to accommodate the “infinite” water colors part.
I set up /dev/ttyUSB1 to sniff while USB0 operates iAqualinkD from a pi4b.
I’m using Python to sniff USB1 looking for the typical light devices.
You did a really good job with the software by the way.
Regards,
Kevin

Any leads on how your app is working with Infinity Water Colors?

Sounds good, thanks for the heads up!

I’m hoping to have something in the next release that can change the light
modes (like it can for all other lights). From what I can see so far I
don’t think AqualinkD will be able to do the “infinite” part unless you
allow AqualinkD to block / override iAqualink, or Jandy updates their
protocols.

I just had Jandy Infinite Water colors installed and my main pool light shows up as Zone I in the AqualinkD simulators [PDA,OneTouch] under the equipment on/off menu. However, I cannot get it to show in the General AqualinkD view. Is there a way to do that?
