i have the first one 12 volts and the ribbon one craftbot plus so cant with the ribbon one do i need to change to 24 volts or not

I should change it to 24V, a 24V Meanwell PSU is not expensive ;-)

Steppermotors are powered via the stepperdrivers, so you can use them.
With 24V your current is lower, safer 😀
