Use checkmate.nvim without relying on its metadata standard, while switching between Neovim and Obsidian to maintain a consistent workflow.

I really appreciate the work that went into developing this Neovim plugin. It's well-thought-out, reliable, and adds real value to my workflow. Thank you for the effort and dedication you've put into it.

I appreciate the feature request and the kind words. I certainly understand the frustration with multiple naming conventions, though to my knowledge there is no real consensus/standard. I haven't personally used Obsidian's Tasks but it is definitely a popular Markdown-based program, including with those in the Neovim community.

Though the scope of this feature is likely quite large (in terms of a re-write to checkmate's metadata parsing), it may be feasible. Obsidian Tasks seem to be comprised of [emoji] [single-space] [text]. It seems their Tasks api has been quite stable for several years.

Checkmate could offer a separate metadata engine that, instead of parsing @tag(value), parses [emoji] [text].

Give me some time to dive deeper into this. Please use this thread for additional comments/considerations or additional context in how you use/or hope to use Obsidian's Tasks in Neovim.
