Field report from 2024 March, to be added to the instructor guide (but not directly PRed since the guide is sort of the solution also)

2024 March

This was the first year we did all of week 2 as demos (but it didn't change much). We did the standard practice of two instructors, and had one doing most of the typing and one setting the direction. (The usual thing applies: only one person should be setting the direction, that person should be known.)

There isn't much to say. The steps we did can be seen in the YouTube video's description: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ii8Zx29dokM . There was plenty of time to go to the command line. Though, we skipped the part of "making a loop over three different values", which might have been a good starting point, since showing a loop (a non-extendable way) first would have framed some of the later things later. But we did what people suggested - if you want a certain way, prepare or make sure you get another helper to propose the path you want to take.

It wasn't hard doing this with familiarity and no other prep, we could figure out bugs as we went on (which is good).
