Multi-currency support

Problem

I hold assets and cash in multiple currencies (e.g. USD, CAD). Currently, the sheet only handles a single currency which makes it difficult to see consolidated balances in a single “base” currency.

Use Case

• I hold certain tickers in USD and others in CAD.
• I also maintain cash balances in both USD and CAD.
• I'd like the ability to configure a "base currency" for all reporting.

Proposed Features

1. Currency: Automatically detect or allow manual entry of each ticker's trading currency.
2. Base Currency: Add a setting where I can select a base reporting currency (e.g. USD, CAD, EUR, etc).
3. Multi-Currency Cash Tracking: Allow cash balances to be entered in any supported currency.

Not fully automated, and not complete, but here is the solution I came up with. This will report all values in whatever default currency you set

Add a field in Settings called default currency. Name the cell as DefaultCurrency

Add a column (Base currency) in Asset setup. Add all the currencies in a dropdown

For price change the formula of price column to below

=GOOGLEFINANCE(CONCAT("CURRENCY:", CONCAT(I4, DefaultCurrency))) * ASSETPRICE(Assets[Ticker])
