Oracle debug

Hi, I saw that in issue 3404 there was a mention of planned integration of Oracle debugger in DBeaver and I was wondering if this has been scrapped or merely shifted. I'd be happy to wait for it and support in any way I can. It is essential for my use of the software and as it stands, the only barrier to abandoning PLSQL Developer.

I did not know about option two, I'll give that a shot. Anything at this point to ditch PLSQL Developer. Had to downgrade to 14 because 15 and 16 have serious performance issues. And I'd love to use DBeaver more.
My biggest problem is with testing business logic that relies on temporary tables and global variables, being called by software and not always directly.

As soon as you're two procedures using temporary tables deep, things get very messy. So having a debugging window with dedicated session is a dream.

I will try your second suggestion.

But if there is anything I can do to push this along, like testing, let me know. I can't write Java, but I'm happy to make some dummy tests in PLSQL packages.

I expect you to have maybe an outdates plsql dev version (software by allround). I don't wanna make no negative statement about dbeaver at all, but it's unlikely you gonna have a better support on a general ide like Dbeaver rather than an Oracle centric one (especially focused on PLSQL which to my knowledge has very few support, considering is clearly an outdated solution).

You surely know about it, but have you tryied sqldeveloper by oracle?
Yes it's outdated, slow and ugly but it has a decent support for plsql given it's free software (not opensource) and has a debugger for plsql packages. I have not tryied it because the server where oracle runs does not accept "remote debugging".
