Build errors, recommended versions of ROOT, Geant4, and QtCreator?

I'm getting a lot of errors (some shown in the screenshot below) in QT Creator when trying to build the application. I have the versions below, which ones do you have to build successfully?

Ubuntu 22.10
ROOT Version: 6.28/00
Geant4 11.0.3
Qt Creator 8.0.1

What is the version of gcc and Qt that you are using and which compiler have you selected in QtCreator?

I have gcc versions 11.3.0 and 12.2.0 configured for QtCreator and Qt version 5.15.6

by adding the line CONFIG += c++14 to simple.pro I got to these errors instead with the versions specified above.

I think the Geant4 code that you have on your system was compiled with a different compiler. Could you please check that? In that case, I suggest that you compile it again with similar configurations to avoid conflicts.

Ok I will try that! In the mean time can I ask for the versions of Geant4 and ROOT that you're using again so I can rule out those variables when trying to get it to work? Thanks for the help!

Rebuilding ROOT and Geant4 brought down the number of errors and this is what I see now with ROOT 6.26/10 and Geant4 10.5.1.

Hi,
The ROOT code was written with an older version (5.XX) and hence the conflicts. Is it possible to rename all TObjString to TObject and check if some of the errors vanish?

Thank you, the renaming worked so the remaining errors are now as in the screenshot below. From the commented code in simple.pro it looks like you use ROOT 6.18.04 but that's from a previous build maybe then? What Geant4 version did you build it with please?

It was with Geant4 10.5.1. The ROOT part of the code was lifted from my iRoot project [https://github.com/deepaksamuel/iRoot/] which was built using a older version of root (5.XX).

Retried with Ubuntu 18.04, ROOT 5.34/38 , Geant4 10.5.1 and it's down to only two errors now :)

Could you please add #include <TKey.h> to iROOTWorksheet.cpp and check if that works?

That fixed it! Then there is only one more error (shown below). If I comment out line 121 the build completes and the Simple gui shows up :)

Where do I place db.sqlite for the qtcreator build to find it? I've tried placing one in most folders I could think of.

It should be in the same location as that of the executable.

Of what executable? This is what I see after pressing play in qtcreator.
