Update frequency

I've just flashed 4 devices and connected to a Samsung Smartthings hub. I just wonder how the temp & humidity updates work? Does the device transmit its current temp/humidity readings at set intervals, only changes larger than a specific threshold, or does the Smartthings hub query them at certain times?

Also updates seem a bit irregular. Looking at what happened over night, one device is only updating humidity, another one only temperature, even though there has been changes in the other parameter since the last recorded reading.
