Hey, it would be very convenient to be able to install this amazing pice of software using fdroid.
IzzyOnDroid would probably work as well, since you can just add their repo to fdroid, which seems quite popular for projects like these.

It should be possible to automate this process with github actions or similar.

I have actually already made an effort to get the app on IzzyOnDroid. You can see the history here: IzzyOnDroid Issue Tracking. I may need to create a new issue there to get things moving again with a FOSS build version in release.

I am also trying to add the app to Flathub, but I've hit a temporary snag. GitHub automatically enabled Copilot for my Pull Request reviews, which isn't allowed by Flathub's policy, and this resulted in the Flathub GitHub organization blocking my account. I have written an email to the admins and am waiting for them to unblock me so I can proceed with the submission.

Update:

1. IzzyOnDroid (F-Droid Repo):
Great news! The metadata review is complete and the submission has moved to the testing phase. The maintainer confirmed:

"Removed the waiting-on-response to show it's ready for the needs-on-device-test – ball is now on our side of the field. Hopefully, a tester will chime in soon™."

We are just waiting for a volunteer to verify the build on a device, and then it should be live in the repo.

2. Flathub:
Unfortunately, I am still blocked here. I haven't received a response to my emails regarding the account ban (caused by the accidental Copilot integration). I will continue to reach out to the admins to resolve this, but for now, the Flathub submission is stalled.

I'll post another update once the IzzyOnDroid build is live!

Yes, absolutely!

My strategy is to stabilize the app on IzzyOnDroid first. Since the official F-Droid inclusion process can take a while (and their update cycle is slower), IzzyOnDroid allows me to get updates and fixes to users much faster right now.

Once the build process is verified and running smoothly there, I will definitely submit to the main F-Droid repository as the long-term goal.

Update on F-Droid / IzzyOnDroid Submission:

I have addressed the feedback from the on-device review regarding FOSS compliance and app behavior. To adhere strictly to the inclusion policy, I have implemented a dedicated FOSS Build Flavor with the following changes:

1. AI & Privacy Compliance:

• AI Assistant: Removed all proprietary API options (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) from the FOSS build. The only available option is "Local / Custom Server", allowing users to connect to their own self-hosted LLMs (e.g., Ollama, LM Studio).
• Audio-to-Text: Similarly, proprietary cloud transcription services have been removed. This feature now relies exclusively on local/custom endpoints to ensure no data is transmitted to third-party proprietary services without user control.

2. Visual Bug Fixes:

• Fixed the keyboard overlap issues reported during the UI review to ensure notes and task details remain visible while editing.

3. Update Checker:

• Disabled the internal update checker for this build flavor to rely entirely on the F-Droid/IzzyOnDroid repository for updates.

I am pushing these changes in the upcoming release and will ping the maintainers for a re-review shortly!
