[FEAT] Add to inbox via email.

I would like to be able to define a POP / IMAP email inbox (Account, Server, Username & Password etc) that I can forward emails to, and they go into my inbox for sorting later. Should not be tied to any provider.. just standard POP3 / IMAP so its usable on anything.

If this is possible, then could it be shared with another user (Send the task in a specific format to another users email?) and then moved into 'Waiting for' (In other words, some method of getting colaboration features into Mindwtr while sticking to GTD principles.)

This is a fantastic feature request and fundamental to the GTD "Capture" phase.

Should we add this? YES.
Is it possible? YES.

However, because Mindwtr is Local-First (we don't have a cloud server reading your emails), we have to implement this slightly differently than apps like Todoist:

The Plan: Local IMAP Polling

Instead of forwarding emails to a generic cloud address, Mindwtr Desktop will act as a specialized Email Client.

1. Configuration: You enter your IMAP details (or a specific "App Password" from Gmail/Outlook) in Settings.
2. The Fetch: When your Mindwtr Desktop app is open, it will poll your specific folder (e.g., Mindwtr Inbox).
3. The Action: It will download the email, convert the Subject to Task Title and Body to Note, and then archive the email to keep your mail server clean.

Addressing Collaboration ("Waiting For")

We can definitely support the workflow you described!

• Scenario: You send an email task to a colleague.
• Workflow: You BCC your own Mindwtr-connected email address.
• Automation: Mindwtr will read that email, detect that you sent it to someone else, and automatically create a "Waiting For" task linked to that person.

Note: Since this relies on your device to do the fetching, emails will only be processed when your Mindwtr app is running (mostly likely on Desktop initially).

I'm not a developer sorry.. so won't be able to help here. Could a linux version of Mindwtr be run on a 'server' (perminantly on computer) and run in 'headless' mode from a CLI, so it could both do the importing of tasks via IMAP, and also act as an API server? Writing the sync file to a file so it can be synced to my devices (Mobile and desktop) via webdav?

This is a great question. You are effectively describing a "Self-Hosted Backend" architecture, which is the holy grail for privacy-focused power users.

Is it possible? Yes.
Since Mindwtr is built as a monorepo (the core logic is separate from the UI), we can absolutely create a "Mindwtr Daemon" in the future.

The Vision (Future Roadmap)

Instead of running the full desktop app "headless" (which is heavy), we could release a lightweight Docker Container that you run on your home server (Synology, Raspberry Pi, etc.).

This Daemon would:

1. Poll IMAP: Check your email 24/7 and add tasks to your Inbox.
2. Sync: Act as the "Always On" node that syncs your Mobile and Desktop devices via WebDAV.
3. API: Expose a local REST API for your own automation scripts.

While I am currently focused on polishing the Desktop and Mobile apps, I am keeping the core logic decoupled so that building this "Headless Server" remains a viable project for the future!
