Additional context
If the user is being allowed to run the program under the old version, it doesn't make sense to intrude on the experience in what appears to be an effort to push updating. As an aside, it should be up to the user to even check if an update exists. This morning the 3.2.11 update broke my 1,500 hour profile and maybe the actual game's save file, by not knowing my mod list and the new update tricking me into resetting the settings (instead of just telling me to launch with administrator for this version which was the actual issue) If I had even known an update happened, I would have known how to troubleshoot my issue much sooner, and soon enough. Forcing the user into stealth updates is a deadly combo.
