Does Erigon support custom Ethereum-compatible chains?

Hi, thank you for developing and maintaining this great project.

I have a question regarding network support:
Does Erigon support running a chain with a custom network ID (e.g., 12345678) that is compatible with the Ethereum protocol but not listed in the official documentation below?

We're trying to run Erigon with the--networkid=12345678 option, but we’re encountering the following error:

2025-04-14 11:32:26 Fatal: ChainDB name is not recognized: /execution/genesis.json

Is there a recommended way to initialize Erigon with a custom genesis file for such networks?

Erigon docker image version: erigontech/erigon:main-7c5c8c7

The original question was about using Erigon on a L1 chain that is 100% ethereum compatible but that is not a local dev chain. Is that possible to connect Erigon to a chain that is not defined in the list here docs.erigon.tech/basic/networks?
