Hi everyone, I'm new here (trying to do things outside my comfort zone…).

I'm trying to make the very first steps, following Using Node.js > Option 1.

Now I have my ~/.config/karabiner/karabiner-config dir, and edited ~/.config/karabiner/karabiner-config/src/index.ts replacing --dry-run with TS, which is the name of a fresh Karabiner profile I've created.

When, from ~/.config/karabiner/karabiner-config, I run npm run build, I get the following output:

Hi, what is the node version you're using? (node -v)

Can you also try to use JS instead?

1. Rename index.ts to index.mjs
2. Change the build script in package.json to 'node src/index.mjs'

Then, trying with JS:

There seems to be SyntaxError in your code, can you post your code?

The only line I changed, in src/index.ts (or src/index.mjs), is

writeToProfile('TS', [

being TS the name of the karabiner profile.

Thanks that narrowed the issue down to the installed ts-node version not working with the latest node. I wanted to switch ts-node to tsx, and now it is time.

Please run npx create-karabiner-config@latest again (anywhere you like, it doesn't need to be in ~/.config) to create a new project with the updated project template.
