$100 API Call in one turn

So, this MCP is really great in helping Claude Code get accurate coding done. I have been using it on a project for the last few days it has gone well. Today after I asked Claude to plan out a new feature the screen terminal screen started flashing like crazy just filing up with text strings and it did not stop for 4 or 5 seconds. Then everything resumed to normal. About ten minutes later I got a notification that I was charged $100 for Anthropic API usage. I have a Claude Pro membership so I am not using my API key for Claude Code, but I am using it with this MCP.

Before I open this as an issue, I am wondering is there a way to make sure this does not happen again - a config somewhere that I can set besides setting a limit with Anthropic (which I regretfully forgot to do)? To be clear this was one turn - I hit enter, crazy amount of text, $100 api bill. All within a few minutes of each other.

Has anyone else experienced this at all? I want to keep using this MCP, but now I am concerned.

That's insane.

I personally have it limited to 5$ on Claude.

You can have guardrails directly on the provider
