Investigation automating social media posting for a release

• When a new release drops, we need to post this on socials

@jazzsequence not that I am aware of. At least from my perspective, this does not happen often enough to make automation worth it. As long as it's part of the release checklist, and more than one person has the ability to host. I think we should be ok for awhile.

We'd be dropping a release every 6 weeks so having a Github action to automate it would make lives easier. That said, hooking our website up to auto-post when we blog a release...

If there's no restrictions and we're tossing ideas at the wall, I just started playing with Make recently, which is basically a Zapier/IFTTT clone. There's a WordPress plugin integration so you can build a workflow that's triggered by a post and send it to social media (or wherever). You get 1k credis/month on the free tier which is enough to cover simple things that only go through a couple "modules".

That said, something open source would obvs be preferrable.
