This would be great. If Google doesn’t intend to support these emulators and update them with new fixes and functionality, can they please at least open source them? The poor state of these emulators is preventing us from adopting any new Datastore features and functionality. |

Agreed to the above - we've been holding off from using many o the new Firestore in Datastore mode feature because we can't run them locally/in testing environments |

+1, we would love to have a good way of verifying that our code doesn't rely on indexes that don't exist. I've cobbled something together using what I can discover about an An emulator like this doesn't seem to be of significant value for Google to keep secret, it seems like a great open source candidate. |

It looks like the firestore emulator is a Java application. Is this open sourced anywhere? It would be highly useful in order to be able to add missing features such as these:
