How to install lsfg-vk in Steam?

I want to use Lossless Scaling in Steam, I got a solution is using lsfg-vk
But, I don't know how to install that.
Edit dockerfile and build a new image? this is not a easily way for another user

Yeah, I'm aware that it's not very user-friendly to extend the Docker images at the moment, we've discussed this more in details in #244

Luckly lsfg-vk seems to be just a library and a vulkan json file so maybe you are fine just mounting the required files in the right place?
If that's the case you can easily download it somewhere in your host and add a mount point for the binary in your config.toml under the Steam app; something like:

Here is a step by step guide to get Lossless working on GOW/Wolf

First you will need to fetch the dev git and i suggest you do this in a fresh directory:

mkdir gow-dev
cd gow-dev
git clone https://github.com/games-on-whales/gow.git

this should download everything you need into "gow"
you would need to edit the Dockerfile for steam

cd gow
nano apps/steam/build/Dockerfile

In this file you would need to change some things
the line saying "FROM ubuntu..." should be changed to "FROM ubuntu:25.04 AS bwrap-builder"

We need to make certain that we have access to wget so in "REQUIRED_PACKAGES=" we should add wget. between "whoopsie" and "network-manager" is where i added wget.

and at the end of the Dockerfile you can add:

# Lossless scaling install
RUN wget https://github.com/PancakeTAS/lsfg-vk/releases/download/v1.0.0/lsfg-vk-1.0.0.x86_64.deb
RUN dpkg -i lsfg-vk-1.0.0.x86_64.deb

Now you can save and close nano (ctrl + x)

Next we will build the image:
docker build -t gow/steam:Lossless --build-arg BASE_APP_IMAGE=ghcr.io/games-on-whales/base-app:edge apps/steam/build

After this is done you should change the wolf config to use this image, in my case:
nano /etc/wolf/cfg/config.toml

Find the steam app section and change the image line to read:
image = 'docker.io/gow/steam:Lossless'

Now save and exit.

Restart the wolf docker to load the new settings:
docker restart wolf

you can now use lossless in the steam docker. but you will ofc need to own lossless on steam and have it installed since you need to load the lossless.dll

you can try lossless by putting the "LSFG_PROCESS=benchmark %command%" as a start prefix on a steam game. this uses 4x framegen multiplier
