@trevorijones @kintawer this is related to the apt cache... I have no time to fix it in the repo, but I had the same error, and here is a fix for that. You should use pre_tasks with "forced" updating of the cache, like this:

---
- name: Install Docker and test functionality
  hosts: linux:docker
  become: true
  vars:
    docker_install_compose_plugin: false
    docker_add_repo: true

  pre_tasks:
    - name: Update apt cache
      apt:
        update_cache: true
        cache_valid_time: 3600

Also, if you try to do this with --check, it will fail anyway.
