Description

@skalk

Fortunately, the Hack'n'Hike community event will take place this year again!
For those of you, who never attended this fantastic event: Hack'n'Hike, as the name suggests, is about connecting the Genode community at a cozy place in nature, hacking, hiking (mostly) in Saxony Switzerland, chatting, demo showing, playing, laughing, eating and so on...

When?

Start: Friday 24th April 2026
End: Monday 27th April 2026

Where?

The event will take place at "Herberge auf dem Kulm". That is a cozy, ecological, rustic little court nearby Rathen in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, in Saxony, about 35 kilometres southeast of Dresden. Please think of it more as a mountain hut than a luxurious hotel!

What is provided?

  • Lodging (most rooms are for 4 persons, some for 2 persons)
  • There is some room for tents, if you prefer to sleep outside
  • Common seminar room
  • There is no cable bound Internet uplink available, but a reasonable 4G/LTE mobile reception
  • Catering for breakfast and dinner (we bear vegetarian needs in mind, please tell us in advance if you have other special requirements!)
  • Towels and bed clothes are not included! Please bring your own stuff with you. Otherwise, you might need to pay a rental rate of ~20 EUR.
  • Some old table tennis table, bring your own racket with you, if you like?!

How to register?

  • The event is at no cost, lunch is not included.
  • We want to give participants from diverse backgrounds a chance to attend. Due to the limited capacity, please limit the number of attendees of your organization to a maximum of 2-3.
  • Please register via mail to hacknhike@genode-labs.com till 24th March 2026.
If you have further questions regarding the event, please don't hesitate to ask in this issue or via mail to hacknhike@genode-labs.com !
