Our docs need some more info on our proxy and how it's used in the code and why. I'm thinking an "explanation" page in the contributor guide?
Questions I'd like to answer there:
- Why do we have a proxy?
- What is the proxy?
- A jupyter server extension
- How should it be used?
- When should it (not) be used?
- Consequences
- Functionality not working in jupyterlite because the actual server proxy isn't there
- Does it make it harder for us to adopt tools that help with querying and caching like tanstack-query or tools that depend on it (react-query)?
