Display JupyterGIS version in the GUI

Sometimes I load the JupyterLite deployment to test something and unbeknownst to me, an old version is cached by my browser. CTRL+R to hard-refresh fixes the problem.

But there's still the problem of being able to identify visually whether I'm using the version I expect. Often I realize only after encountering a missing feature or bug that I know is only in an older version.

Where should this version number be displayed? In JupyterLite, "Help > About JupyterGIS App" displays:

The same menu is not present in JupyterLab. Certainly not what I expected. Should our goal be to display the version number of JupyterGIS in "About JupyterGIS App" regardless of whether we're running in Lite or not? And in Lite, should the Lite version instead be displayed in "About JupyterLite"? I.e. in JupyterLite with JupyterGIS installed, both "About JupyterGIS App" and "About JupyterLite" should show up in the help menu?

OK I think I see a possible explanation. The button's text is generated somehow. In the official "try Jupyter" deployment https://jupyter.org/try-jupyter/lab/, the button which displays the JupyterLite version shows up as "About Try Jupyter!"

That's confusing, we should maybe just change this to "JupyterLite"

Maybe JupyterLite should not use the app name for that string? It feels like it should always say "About JupyterLite".

I guess we should simply not configure the app name differently. The app is still JupyterLite, we should not change that.
