Axis handling for objects

One option is to have axes completely managed by the plot function, similar to what we do with managing the number of events. That is, every time we call the plot function, it should return the axes which we want to add to the figure.

I think this is the best way to go, especially considering how twinx/twiny interferes with PanGUI ability to automatically match axis to object.
