Build on macOS 15.1 with Apple M2 Processor

I'm using these instructions to build: http://hercules-390.github.io/html/hercinst.html#buildmacos

When I get to the ./configure step, I get the message:

checking build system type... configure: error: /bin/sh ./autoconf/config.sub -apple-darwin24.1.0 failed

What do I need to add/edit and where?

Whoa, why didn't I see this before. Simply use brew install hercules. I found it on the .eu FAQ site.

I'm still curious how to build it myself.

This repo is largely abandoned. I suggest you look at its replacement forks, SDL-Hercules-390 and Hercules-Aethra.

Hercules-Helper will build both of those on Apple silicon.
