The split view window should be visible everywhere, not just when its companion window is open.

The problem
Currently, if I drag a window into split view, I only see it when the associated tab or the split view tab is active. Unfortunately, this is often of little use from a productivity point of view. It would be great to have a solution where one tab could be pinned/made global in the split view, so that it is available anywhere in that window and does not disappear when I switch to another tab.
