[FR]: Change window color to differentiate Incognito mode #857

Description

Description

Make the browser window change color/theme when in Incognito mode so it's easier to distinguish them from normal windows

Who's implementing?

  • I'm willing to implement this feature myself

The problem

Currently there's no way to easily tell if you're in Incognito at a glance, other than a small, monochromatic badge in the top right of the window.

Many other browsers (Brave, Firefox, Arc, etc.) do this in varying ways.

Seems like a no brainer addition for a privacy-focused browser like Helium.

Possible solutions

At minimum some color added to the badge/icon would help, but I think the best implementation is how Brave does it:

The whole window is themed purple which makes it very obvious you're in Incognito.

Here's another example from Firefox:

While the window theme doesn't change, the icon at least has some color for differentiation.
